This class will teach you all about getting the most from your photos through careful composition and editing. It will give you the tools you need to improve your photos, regardless of your subject.
We will start by covering how to take the pictures you want: finding intriguing subjects where none are obvious; exploring qualities of line and light; playing with visual weight and proportion; effectively using colour, texture and repetition, and much more.
After learning the principles of what to do when taking the pictures, we’ll break for lunch and then return for practical tips on how to bring out the best in the photos you have already taken. We’ll be using Adobe Lightroom for most of the demos, but the concepts will transfer to whatever editing program you prefer. You will be able to learn the tricks you need to troubleshoot your own photography and get the most out of your pictures.
Whether you take pictures with a smart phone, point-and-shoot, SLR, or large format camera, you can use what you learn in this course to create compelling photos the way you want.
None! (ok, maybe some enthusiasm for photography)
You will get the most out of the editing section if you are somewhat familiar with computers and have tried some sort of editing software before.
